There was a time when a structure was sprayed once with Chlordane or DDT for carpenter ant exterminations and the effects lasted for years. Unfortunately, we also had to live with the long-lasting effects of these chemicals.
Thankfully, those days are over, and we now use carpenter ant extermination products that are more environmentally acceptable. Unfortunately, these products break down quickly.

Not every job is the same. The size of the job is determined by the size of the property, the size and location of the infestation, and other factors. However the basics never change.
We treat the outside of the building to stop the insects from foraging and break ties with the satellite colonies. We pay special attention to dishwashers, sinks, bathtubs, toilets, and chimneys. These are common problem areas due to heat and moisture.
It may be necessary to drill small holes into suspect areas to gain access and inject light powder. If a nest becomes active again you may see this light powder shake down. Don’t be alarmed. Simply vacuum it up or dust with a damp cloth.
